And they’re off!
I started my vet school application today at www.vmcas.org. Why was I so nervous just typing in my name, address, and phone number? I want every little detail correct, I suppose.
And wouldn’t you know, I’m already flummoxed by some of the questions, such as the exact date my residency in Colorado began, and the date my parents became legal residents of their home state.
I remember as an undergrad it irked me to no end that I had to provide any information from my parents, since they weren’t paying my tuition, and I didn’t live with them during the summer. Financial aid applications tend to be due in March, a whole month before tax returns are due, and it was like pulling teeth to extract that information from my parents each year.
And now, 12 years, three mortgages, two car loans, two student loans, and a few credit cards later, they still want to know about my parents? Silly. But then again, I am supposed to be 25, right?
